Mission: Possible 7

The goal for hiking in North America is to “leave no trace.” However, that is not the plan for Mission: Possible 7.

We will go back and find the footprints that Jesus has been leaving in our friends’ hearts since our previous trip, and then make new footprints farther into areas in the “Valley” previously untracked.

When: July 2-15, 2012.

Purpose: Return to the Valley (located between 14,000 and 16,000 feet and inhabited by nomadic people) and visit our friends from previous trips. Continue to disciple and encourage what our Father is doing in them. We will also go farther up the Valley and see what other people can become our friends.

Learn more: Read about our last trip to this area (Mission: Possible 6) and watch the video “Sky Burial” on the religious darkness blanketing this area.

Estimated cost: US$2,500. This includes international flights from North America hub city. North American domestic flights and visa costs are NOT included.

Tentative itinerary:

  • Day 1: Leave North America
  • Day 2: Fly
  • Day 3: Arrive in-country
  • Day 4: Drive
  • Day 5: Drive to Valley and begin trek
  • Day 6: Visit friends from previous trips
  • Day 7: Trek
  • Day 8: Visit friends from previous trips
  • Day 9: Trek
  • Day10: Survey options
  • Day 11: Trek back to starting point
  • Day 12: Drive
  • Day 13: Drive to departure city
  • Day 14: Fly back to North America

To apply: Email info@ClimbingForChrist.org. Deadline for application: April 30, 2012.

The Word

“See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.”
