Climbers for Christ- what are your plans?
Posted: 27 Feb 2006 11:08 PM
What are your plans for the up and coming season? Here is a list of what I have going on and a brief description of how I could use your prayers.

April 4-9 I am going to be climbing Mt. Rainier in Washington. We will be attempting the Liberty Ridge. From what I have heard/seen thus far, we will be the first attempt of the season (we are actually about a month before the season starts). My objectives are as follows:
1: To pray over the mountain and the people who come to climb it. Almost 10,000 people climb Rainier every year. That mountain needs prayer for safety, and especially for God to move in the hearts of the people who climb it.
2: To witness to my climbing partners. I have known these men for a while and their hearts are searching for something- I try to let them know what they are looking for, but I really feel that this opportunity to be jammed in a small tent and sharring a rope up a somewhat technical route will give me the opportunity to share my passion for Christ, help give them peace in their lives, and show them how they can fill the void they are trying to fill. One of them came to church with me this past week and we have had many talks about religion. He just climbed Everest in May and has experienced religions the world over. He understands that there is a God, but he does not know him.

We are fundraising for an organization called Big City Mountaineers. The money we collect is going completely to this organization and not one cent of funds raised will be spent on the climb.

Please pray for our team- 1: that we may all grow closer to God on this trip, and 2: that we have a safe and successful (ie: come back with all fingers/toes) journey on a beautiful mountain.

Again, What are your plans for this season and how are you going to let God use you?

Well, in 2 weeks we should be on our way to Thumb Rock. I am really excited for this climb and I think God will use this time and climb to reach my partners. Please pray for us!

Have a safe and fruitful trip I will be praying. -Todd

Looks like I may be on my way to Mexico in May to put up some sport routes and try to get at least one FA on the cliffs at Huapoca ranch.

Liberty Ridge is a great trip! You ARE going early, especially for a heavy snow year.
Do not dally on the Carbon as I have seen avalanches sweep the route in June.
Email me if you have any questions. olimerkei “at“ yahoo

Blessings,
Keith
