Adirondack guide books

Can anyone recommend a good hiking/back country guidebook for the dacks. I have Climbing in the Adirondacks by Don Mellor but its strictly a rock and ice guide. I'm looking for something thats gonna get me off the beaten path. Thanks all. -Nick.

Nick, The ADK mountain club puts out a series of guide books for the 'daks that are the best IMO. They have different regions available the one that you want is the high peaks section most likely. They have detailed trail descriptions and it comes with a good map as well. Hope this helps. -Todd
