Hey Al, I climbed with Todd up in Acadia this weekend and he told me you'd joined up. That's great! Don't know if you remember me, we've met at the past couple of Ruckuses, but only briefly. I don't know if I qualify as being in your area, especially not since I moved to Maine, but I'm not too far away. I'm running out of vacation this year, but I'd love to share a rope with you soon.

I wouldn't be able to play on Friday the 12th, but I think I could make it for the 13th and 14th. Maybe we could have our little church service on Sunday morning! By this point my wife might even be ready to get back on a rope.

Yeek, sorry Rich. I'd like to tell you I have a good excuse for not inviting you, but I just didn't think about it! I'll give you a call this week. Hope that beautiful girl of yours is doing well.

I'm not yet sure Al, my Mother may be in town. I should know within the next week or so.

Still can't guarantee my attendance, but I'm getting closer. If I can make it I'm thinking it will be a Saturday day trip for me. Leave stupid early and get back stupid late. On a side note, I just hit up Rumney on Friday and absolutely killed it. I'm no super star, but my personal level of climbing has never been higher. Hopefully I'll be able to make it.

On yet another side note, after 4 months Kym and I have finally found the church God has for us. Woohoo!

On yet ...

Yikes! I just got back from the gym so now I have raw finger tips to go with the scabs on the backs of my hands. Sure wish I hadn't left the tape in my car before doing Gamesmanship! Sure wish I had something resembling crack technique! Todd's right, I now have such a bad need to get on to more cracks that I'm trying to think of any and all crack climbs at Rumney. I may in fact make it there after all, although I still wouldn't stay the night. Last time I was there I climbed at the 5.8 ...

Hey Todd, I don't think you found the ceiling of your trad following abilities. I think you found the ceiling of your crack climbing abilities, as did I. You TR'd Curly's Revenge at Rumney which went at 5.8. You're plenty strong, it just wasn't your style of route. Given how much slab you guys have up there I bet you climb a couple of grades higher on that stuff. Just all part of becoming a complete climber I suppose. At least that's what I'm telling myself!

Last time I climbed I challenged my limits just fine, and on gear, too! My last scab just fell off today!

Hey Al, you up for a hike to the Hinterlands on Saturday? I've a hankering for Jolt ever since I climbed Dolt 3 weeks ago. I'm not hauling my rack all the way up there though, draws only!

Forecast for Saturday (as of 8:40AM on Wednesday) is 82 degrees with 78% humidity. THIS IS NOT FALL CLIMBING! I was hoping for 60 degrees and mucho friction! Looks like a swim in the Baker River might be in order mid afternoon.

Hey Todd, what's with the Hamster reference? Am I just dense? I read the scripture referenced and I can't figure it out.

I plan to arrive at 8:30AM on Saturday. Orange Honda Element with Maine plates. I'll bring my own lunch, but I'll probably need to grab some food for dinner on the way out of town, so if anyone's interested in Plain Jane's or PHP, please join in. I'll probably leave at about 5PM.

No way I'm doing anything on Vader before Jolt, but I'm happy to belay if you guys want to go there first.
